LPG is a hydrocarbon compound consisting mainly of carbon and hydrogen atoms. LPG means liquefied petroleum gas. As per NFPA 58 Section 3.3.36 LP-Gas or LPG is any material having a vapor pressure not exceeding that allowed for commercial propane that is composed predominantly of the following hydrocarbons, either by themselves or as mixtures: propane, propylene, butane (normal butane or isobutane), and butylenes. LPG is used for various applications including industrial, commercial, power generation, agricultural and manufacturing applications. LPG is widely used for cooking; it can also be used for heat generation as well as a source of fuel to power cars.
